Review Policy

UPDATE 2/10/16: I am currently closed to reviews.

Are you interested in having me review your YA book? Unfortunately, although my desire to read is endless my time is not. I get several requests a week but can only review two to six books a month. I receive no paid compensation for my reviews whatsoever. If I receive a book for free, I always mention it in my reviews on my website, Amazon and Goodreads.

Here is how I make my decision about which books to review:

  • Does this book look interesting? I personally love speculative fiction, fantasy and realistic fiction. My focus is YA not NA.
  • Has this author or publicist liked/followed me on Facebook, Twitter and Goodreads? If so, please mention this in your review request. Bonus points for also following my early education Facebook page! Extra bonus points for sharing one of my YAGal Facebook posts, or tweeting one of my reviews.
  • Has the author signed up for my newsletter? If I review your book, it would be super nice for you to review mine when it debuts in fall of 2016. 🙂
  • If the author or publicist is interested in a #YABookCook review, will they provide me with a paperback or hardcover copy of their book?

A final note…I know authors pour their hearts, souls and minds into their work. I am so sorry that I do not have time to review each and every title you send my way. But even if I am unable to review your book, I am sometimes willing to share teasers, bookcover reveals, etc. on my Facebook page. I hope this helps!
