Have you ever wanted to hack into somebody’s phone and read all of their personal messages? That’s what it feels like reading Gena/Finn by Hannah Moskowitz and Kat Helgeson. Told through emails, texts, blog posts, journal entries, and occasionally fan fiction, Gena/Finn tells the story of two friends who connect online via their mutual love of a television-show-based fandom. What starts off as a frothy, light-hearted relationship quickly becomes serious. This book turns in a direction that I for one, did not see coming.
Fans of realistic YA fiction will adore Gena/Finn. It explores deep questions about friendship, growing up, boundaries, and the unending cost of love.
